New Zealand IV: Southeast Coast
After leaving Fiordland National Park I drove southeast toward the coast. After several days of running nonstop I was getting a bit tired, so enjoyed a bit of scenery along the coast and then relaxed for the night. The next morning started beautifully clear, though weather was moving in from the north. I visited a number of beautiful waterfalls in the rainforests along the coast. Further north I enjoyed watching fur seals and crested spoonbills along the coastal cliffs. Toward evening I visited the famous Moaraki Boulders. The next morning I had a little time enjoy more wildlife before the bad weather closed in. I did visit Elephant Rocks in the rain, but after that it was pretty miserable so I headed north toward Christchurch and spent the night with some friends who live near there.
