Blue Glacier
In July 2023, I finally was able to complete this hike which I'd been trying to do for two seasons. Blue Glacier, the largest of the glaciers descending from Mt. Olympus in Olympic National Park has to be one of the most stunning views in the Pacific Northwest, but that beauty carries a steep price tag -- 35 miles round trip of backpacking, mostly through forest with very little to see. I had permits to backpack this in July 2022, but ended up coming down with covid just a few days prior so was unable to go. Thankfully this year I was able to get a permit again and weather cooperated. This was definitely the most effort I've ever put into reaching a single view -- worth it to experience once, though I don't really have any desire to do it again!
