North Cascades Snowshoeing
Each winter, I try to get up into the mountains at least once for a good snow photo shoot. This year, I had a free weekend and the weather looked perfect, so I headed all the way up to Heather Meadows, between Mt Baker and Shuksan in far northern Washington. It's quite a drive from where I live, but one of the most beautiful places that can be reached by car, especially in the winter. There were plenty of other people to dodge, but I managed to find a lot of pristine, undisturbed snow, and incredible lighting for one of the best winter photo shoots yet.
