Lake of the Crags
After hiking Green River Valley in the Winds, I spent a morning in the Tetons. Despite overcrowding, this park remains an incredibly beautiful destination... and on this trip I managed to find a corner of the park which was decidedly uncrowded. The trail to Lake of the Crags is clear and easy to follow if you know where it is... but it's not an official park trail so is unmarked and very few hikers know about it. The hike is relatively short but one of the most brutal trails I've hiked... gaining 2,800ft elevation in barely more than two miles. It was totally worth it... the lakes at the top are pristine and stunning, and I saw less than 10 other hikers the whole time.
