Leadville Colorado

In Feb 2023 my parents moved from the Black Hills of South Dakota to Loveland, Colorado which was quite exciting to me for a number of reasons. Denver is much quicker, easier, and lower cost to fly to from Portland, and I have a lot on my bucket list still in Colorado, only having visited briefly twice before. I made a couple quick weekend trips to visit them, then in July came back for a bit more than a week. For one day's adventure we drove a few hours south to Leadville, Colorado -- a charming little town which until recently held the title of the highest incorporated town in the US at 10,150ft elevation. We enjoyed riding the scenic Leadville train, then after lunch drove over Weston Pass at almost 12k elevation. On the way home we passed through Loveland just in time for a beautiful sunset over Loveland Lake.
