Ireland III - Inishowen Peninsula
The morning of my third day in Ireland was rather moody with clouds and gusty winds. Thankfully the rain showers were only occasional and by mid-day the clouds broke up, making for some incredible light. After leaving Giant's Causeway, my first stop was Dunluce Castle, one of the most dramaticly placed ruins I visited on the trip. I stopped and hiked a bit at Mussenden Temple, then drove up into the Inishowen Peninsula, stopping at the ancient Cloncha Church and cross, and hiking at beautiful Malin Head. I then visited Doagh Famine Village and Carrickabraghy Castle before driving south almost to Donegal where I spent the night at beautiful Lough Eske Castle.
