Oregon Wilderness Meadow
In late July I set out on what was probably my most highly anticipated hike of the entire summer. I discovered this little known spot by accident. I could hardly believe the two or three photos I'd seen and was pleasantly surprised that the hike was only about five miles round trip. My expectations were high...and they were still completely blown away. To help this incredible place avoid overcrowding, I will not be posting its exact or even approximate location. Suffice it to say that during the hours I spent here, I seriously questioned whether I had stepped through a portal into the Canadian Rockies. The dramatic views here are the best I've ever seen anywhere in Oregon, including a glacial lake, clear mountain streams, towering mountain walls, profuse wildflowers, and no less than 24 mountain goats! This incredible hike is hands down my favorite in Oregon and one of my top five favorite anywhere in the world. I'll definitely be returning!
