Greece XII - Philippi and Kavala
Our last day in Greece we passed by Thessaloniki and visited the ruins of ancient Philippi, a city Paul visited several times and the home of Lydia. This site was quite interesting, though we were disappointed to find much of it blocked off and rather disorganized compared to the previous sites we've visited. There was still some interesting things of course, and we also visited nearby the traditional site of Lydia's baptism just outside the city. Our last stop was a fitting close to this incredible trip as we walked on a well preserved section of the ancient Roman Via Ignatia which leads from the port city of Kavala up to Philippi... on which we know for certain Paul walked several times.
