Paradise Park
By late July 2020, the wildflowers at higher mountain elevations were starting to come on nicely, so I set out to the legendary Paradise Park on the west slopes of Mount Hood. It's a long day hike from Timberline with plenty of elevation change mainly due to the trail descending all the way to the bottom of Zigzag Canyon and climbing back out the other side...both directions. But the flowers and views were completely worth it! The beargrass was just coming out in the meadows and absolutely gorgeous with panoramic views of Hood, western Oregon, Jefferson, and St Helens.
