Theodore Roosevelt National Park
In May 2018 while visiting my parents in South Dakota, we drove north for a couple days into North Dakota and visited Theodore Roosevelt National Park, also known as the Badlands of North Dakota. Very unique landscape -- it was a good time of year to visit with nice green early spring grass and lots of wildlife, even baby prairie dogs! In the north unit of the park we found lots of huge chunks of petrified wood, literally hundreds of pieces, some very large -- really cool!
