Rocky Mountain National Park

In June of 2020, while I was visiting my parents in South Dakota, we decided to be spontaneous and head to Colorado for the weekend. None of us had ever visited Rocky Mountain National Park before, and weather looked good. We spent two days in the park hiking and enjoying the incredible scenery along the main park road which goes up around 12,000 feet in the mountains. Wildflowers were just starting to bloom, and we even saw a large herd of elk, marmots, pikas, and a fox. We hiked a loop trail visiting at least six beautiful lakes nestled in the mountains, and enjoyed a beautiful sunset and sunrise.
