Big Bend National Park
In March 2022 I decided to make the long trek to a very remote corner of the the American Southwest known as Big Bend. This unique national park is literally in the middle of nowhere, a five hour drive from El Paso where my flight landed. Most of the west Texas landscape is pretty dull, but the park includes some unique and beautiful areas. I particularly enjoyed hiking in the Chisos Mountains which are high enough to have more greenery and some quite stunning views across the Chihuahuan Desert below. I also captured some quite excellent sunrises and sunsets along the Rio Grande which forms the border between the US and Mexico.
