Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan–ATLAS
In October 2024 the world was treated to a beautiful comet passing by earth, easily visible to the naked eye. This comet has an orbit of 80,000 years so will certainly never be visible again in our lifetimes. Unfortunately, I was traveling in Taiwan when it was brightest... but was blessed with some clear skies immediately after returning, while it was still easily visible. This comet was especially unique since it's apparent position was near the arc of the Milky Way.
