Peru

Peru is definitely one of my favorite countries in the world. I visited here in June 2015, flying into Juliaca near the highest navigable lake in the world - Lake Titicaca. The floating reed islands in the lake are quite incredible, and it was amazing to stand at over 13,000 feet looking at the snow-capped peaks of the Andes towering thousands of feet above the lake. I spent a couple days in Cusco, of course visiting the Sacred Valley and the incomparable Machu Picchu. Then I finished the trip with three days on the Amazon River near Iquitos, staying at a remote jungle eco lodge.
