Barney and Robinson Lakes

After exploring the Lost Coast, hiking near Mt Shasta, and backpacking into the Trinity Alps I drove further south back into one of my favorite areas anywhere in the west...the spectacular Sierra Nevada. This particular day I hiked about 15 miles and enjoyed truly stunning scenes at perfectly still Barney Lake. I was hoping to make it to Crown Lake and Peeler Lake, just into Yosemite...but was unfortunately stopped by snow which was still a bit too deep to pass in some steep areas of the trail. I hope to return and hike this one again a bit later in the year.
