Gothic Basin

After hiking to Hidden Lake in North Cascades National Park, I drove a little south past Darrington into the Henry M Jackson Wilderness, a little southwest of Glacier Peak. The next morning I hiked another short and steep trail into Gothic Basin. I almost didn't go looking at the weather but so glad I did -- just as I reached the basin the fog started to clear and I was rewarded with just about the best views I could possibly have asked for. This gorgeous little spot is a bit overcrowded with backpackers, but makes for a very pleasant morning hike with some rugged and unique views.
