The Lost Coast

For Memorial Day 2022, I decided to take an extended road trip down to California and see about finishing up a number of things on my bucket list down there. My first stop was Fern Canyon, near the Redwoods...and a very unique and beautiful place. From there I drove south of Eureka into the remote and wild "lost coast" of California -- the only coastal wilderness in the state. This ended up being a new favorite -- absolutely beautiful with hardly any people. I ended the day at Shelter Cove, the only sizable settlement in the lost coast, and was surprised by an absolutely perfect and gorgeous sunset after solid clouds all day!
