On September 26, I spent the entire day out chasing colors again, and found some of the most incredible scenes yet. I started with a sunrise hike to Bloods Lake just below Guardsman Pass on the Wasatch back. While the lake itself had no fall colors, the hike going there was incredible. Later in the day, I drove an hour east up into the Uinta Mountains, the highest range in Utah. While there was very little color up in the high Uinta, the canyon leading up into the mountains was absolutely on fire. Many of the best colors were high on the ridgelines, and thankfully I was able to fly my drone up near them. Late in the afternoon I drove back up Cascade Springs, where the small leaf maples were still putting on an incredible show of reds and oranges, now being joined by some aspen turning yellow. This time I turned off on a dirt side road and drove a few miles up Mill Canyon. I eventually found the absolutely perfect spot for sunset, with a couple red trees in front of a stand of brilliant aspen - all overlooking Mt Timpanogos.
