Utah Fall Colors 2026 Volume III

After hiking the Lake Blanche trail in August, I knew I wanted to return once the larches turned golden, so was watching trip reports carefully in late September. Once I saw conditions were nearing peak, I took a day off and hiked back up here. What an incredible show! The basin around the lake was filled with golden aspen glowing in the morning light...and the trail up the canyon was like something out of a fairy tail! At this point, I think it's safe to say the fall colors here in Utah are the best I've seen anywhere - such incredible variety of colors along with beautiful mountains and lakes!
