Waterfall Chasing
Here in western Oregon and Washington we receive abundant rainfall in the spring time, lending itself to hundreds of waterfalls... if you know where to look. The Columbia Gorge is home to the most famous waterfall in Oregon, Multnomah Falls, along with many others. It had been quite a few years since I photographed these so when I saw a forecast for cloudy skies I decided to revisit the area. This time I hiked to a couple that I hadn't seen before, including Triple Falls. After lunch in Hood River, I crossed into Washington and drove north into Gifford Pinchot National Forest, visiting two falls which have been on my list for many years and were some of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Special thanks to my son Caleb for his recent gift of a variable ND filter which made it possible to take long exposures for beautifully blurred water, even during the middle of the day.
