Turkey IV - Pamukkale and Hierapolis

After spending the night at a lovely spa resort in Pamukkale, I got up early to photograph sunrise and early morning light at the famous white Travertines. I was rewarded with a few minutes of beautiful light and reflections before the pools are overwhelmed with tourist crowds for the rest of the day. I had just enough time to climb up to the stunningly preserved Roman theater overlooking the entire valley before returning to the hotel for breakfast. Starting our official tour later that day we spent several hours walking through the extensive ruins of Hierapolis. This was one of our favorite sites in Turkey, so much rich history and detail here!
