Joshua Tree National Park
I love the American Southwest, and try to take at least one short trip each year to one of the countless incredible areas found there. One of my favorites, and the most unique is Joshua Tree National Park. I visited here a few years ago and has been on my list to return and reshoot with my newer photography skills. This weekend turned out to be nearly perfect weather, with a mix of sun and clouds, making for incredible light. I only rarely dabble in night sky photography, but decided to give it a shot here since Joshua Tree is known for incredible night skies. I wasn't able to capture the milky way due to too many clouds very early morning when it was out, but I did capture probably my best night sky shot to date about an hour after sunset. A passing car lit up the Joshua Trees in my foreground perfectly, with residual sunset color and Orion.
