North Cascades National Park 2017
I was only able to make one trip to North Cascades in 2017. It's quite a drive from my house, at least seven hours depending on what part of the region I'm heading to. But the one trip I did make was amazing -- after a winter with much greater rainfall than average the wildflowers were completely stunning. I hiked Hannegan Pass, a 13 mile trail north of Mt. Shuksan, then did my first ever night shoot at Picture Lake where I was able to capture a moonlit Mt. Shuksan with the Milky Way reflecting in the lake. The next day before returning home I hiked the poorly named "Easy Pass" which was quite the opposite but very beautiful as well.
