Turkey III - Pisidian Antioch and Laodicea
After spending a night in Konya, we continued northwest to Pisidian Antioch, an interesting ruin dating back to roughly third century BC. Paul visited here on all three of his missionary journey, and details of his persecution here are noted in 2 Timothy 3. After driving about three hours further west we reached Laodicea, our first of the seven churches of Revelation. Only a little of this amazing city has been excavated, but the wealth here is very clear. The setting is incredibly beautiful, with mountains all around. Just a few minutes drive away is the unexcavated mount of Colossae, the city to which the book of Colossians was written.
